Dr Anand is currently working as a Consultant Neurophysiologist in the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom. Prior to this she worked as a Senior Consultant Neurologist in Bangalore, India for over 15 years.
She joined Madras Medical College in 1981, graduated in 1987 and subsequently did he MD (general Medicine in the same institution. She completed her postgraduate in 1990 and went to the UK for higher training. She completed her MRCP and subsequently obtained dual accreditation in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology in the UK and returned to India to practice.
During her undergraduate and postgraduate years, she received several medals and prizes, including the Edmund Lerede Chalk Prize for best MD postgraduate.
Her area of interest is in Neuromuscular diseases and Clinical Neurophysiology. Her research publications included Coronary artery disease in Diabetes and she has a number of publications to her credit.
She is the Lead trainer in Clinical Neurophysiology in Cardiff and is actively involved in undergrad and postgraduate teaching. She has been PACES (MRCP) examiner.
